If your Betta is spilling debris, this is usually temporary and happens while the unit is still stabilizing in the water. Here’s what you can try:
Allow the Foam to Settle: The internal foam may take a couple of weeks to fully absorb water and balance properly. You can help speed this up by gently submerging the entire unit underwater a few times.
Lower the Pool Pump Speed: Set your pool pump to the lowest setting. Strong currents or water turbulence can cause debris to escape the collection chamber. Avoid swimming with the unit running, as movement in the water can push debris back out.
Add Temporary Weight: While the unit is still settling, you can place about one pound of weight on the top front of the solar panel (near the latch). This helps keep the unit level and improves debris retention.
